PASIONES- Dos retos en uno! ( Two challenges in one!)

Hola chicas!

Hello!

This is a LO I designed to comply with two challenges at the same time (I wonder if I'm growing lazy with age????) On one hand Nadia's sketch for Once Upon a Sketch and on the other, one for the Reto Creativo de Junio posted by a girl here in Argentina called Giggly Perez. Nadia's sketch can be seen below and she asked that we include two sentences explaining why these photographs were memorable . Giggly's challenge was based on the painting by Dalí: The Persistence of Memory and she asked that we include insects, clocks and crackled texture in our LO immitating stone. She also asked that it be dedicated to a father (it was Father's Day in Argentina this month) and that it included a phrase describing him. Here is Nadia's sketch first and then my take on it after combining it with Giggly's:

This LO is about my husband and his passions: Fixing even the impossible, music, his guitar and fishing. This is why I included the images seen in the top left hand corner which represent him so well: a guitar, a hand drill, a fishing hook and a screw. I painted the stripes on my background paper with coffee and then transferred the images of the dragonfly and watches responding to Giggly's requests. I decorated the left hand margin with crumpled pattern paper which I then painted with acrylics to immitate stone. In the other photograph you can see the phrases which describe my husband, who by the way is the father of our children (LOL!) and why they are memorable: basically because this is HIM!! The text reads: Time passes....passions prevail. This is you: The craftsman of the impossible, the passionate musician, the never tiring fisherman

I also added an image of a fishing rod to add more vertical lines, as in Nadia´s sketch

Thanks for looking and for all the nice comments you always write!!

My LO is a tribute to my daughter who is an actress, singer and dancer and who after many years of hard work, many castings and many "no's" was finally given her chance and was chosen for the leading role in the local production of Chicago, the musical.

The colours I chose are based on the musical: black in the costumes and the scenography, the fleshtone in the skin of the cast and the gold in the frame that surrounds the stage.

I used a lot of lace ( as seen in the dresses of many of the cast ) which I stuck on the page with tacky glue. For the stars I started by sticking the lace on paper and then cutting them out. The gold borders on the stars I made by applying tacky glue on them and then gold foil. Some of the stars I raised with double sided foam tape.

The text reads: Melanie baby, you finally made it! After so many years of hard work and casting for so many musicals it's finally your turn to shine, my beautiful little girl! I am so proud of you!

Gracias por mirar!
